Pakistan and Cuba celebrate graduation of Pakistani doctors in Cuba

Pakistan and Cuba are celebrating a milestone with the graduation of 600 Pakistani doctors in Universities of Medical Sciences of Sancti Spiritus and Cienfuegos. After their graduation ceremony on February 27 and 28, 2015, the Pakistani students will officially complete seven years of education in Cuba as part of the free Scholarship Program provided by the Government of Cuba in 2006 in which 1000 Pakistani were selected complete their medical degree in Cuban cities, Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos.

The graduation ceremony of 600 Pakistani students is not only a memorable moment for students but also a significant achievement between Pakistan and Cuba, two distant countries but friendly countries who share good political relations.

The Embassy of Cuba in Pakistan, in its message, congratulated the graduates, the authorities of the High Education Commission, the Government of Pakistan and all officials from various government institutions and sectors of Pakistan who offered their full support to the project which has been successfully completed. The Cuban Embassy officials also congratulated the family and close friends of the graduating doctor who gave them support and encouraged them to pursue their studies in Cuba.

Cuban government and people welcomed the Pakistani students as their own children and offered them with the best of Cuban education in the field of health. Once they graduate, many with gold titles, students will return to Pakistan offer their services in their regional communities.

 Cuba was the first foreign destination for many students who were received as ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Cuban and Pakistani friends share friendship, love, dedication and effort displayed during these years. Cuba has now become a second homeland for many students who spend golden years of their lives in Cuba and would soon return home with beautiful memories of a friendly nation.
