The 29-year-old has been working on initiatives to empower women

Pakistani origin British culinary expert Zahra Khan was named in Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list. The 29-year-old is a mother of two and runs Feya Café and DYCA in central London near Bond Street. The café has made quite a buzz in recent years. She was trained at Gordon Ramsay’s culinary school.

Khan said that she had to spend long hours at work to get the results but the effort was worthwhile. She also believes that keeping up with modern trends has helped her company grow as much as it has.

“As a child, I was dreaming of a place with pastel and floral interiors, colorful drinks, and a beautifully curated brunch menu. It demanded a lot of sleepless nights and hard work to make this dream idea come to life, but it was worth every ounce of effort.” She continued, “I believe the secret to company’s expansion results from meeting customers’ demands, keeping up with food trends, raising awareness and building a strong team.”

The chef mostly has women as employees in her 30 people workforce and believes that they are her biggest motivation. “Deeply humbled by the honor and so thankful to my family, my girls – who are my biggest inspiration, my friends, and lastly my teams at Feya and Dyce without whom none of this would have been possible!” Zahra said.

Forbes appreciated Khan for her initiative to empower women in the UK as she spend 10% of her retails profits towards professional coaching for women. “Immigrant Zahra Khan defied Pakistani cultural stereotypes and launched a career in the UK focused on empowering women,” noted Forbes, adding, “The chef and mother of two runs Feya cafes and shops. She employs 30 full-time staff, hires female illustrators to design packaging and donates 10% of retail profits towards professional coaching for women.”

It is great that talent like Zahra Khan has been appreciated for her good work by Forbes. She has also won a host of awards related to the culinary field. One can hope that more people of Pakistan origin can deliver the goods and bring a good name for the country.
