Pakistan makes history with 10-wicket victory over India in T20 World Cup

Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan break Pakistan’s World Cup jinx against India

Pakistan made history after defeating India for the first time in a World Cup match by 10 wickets at the Twenty20 World Cup on Sunday in Dubai.

This was Pakistan’s first-ever victory by 10 wickets in a T20, while India faced the humiliation of losing by 10 wickets for the first time.

“A calm, composed, calculated, methodical and clinical Pakistan ended the five-match losing streak against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup” PCB said.

Babar won the toss and opted to chase. Shaheen gave Pakistan a dream start as the fast bowler rattled India’s top order. Shaheed (3-31) devastated Indian and won the player of the match award.

Chasing 152, captain Babar Azam (68 not out) and Mohammad Rizwan (79 not out) struck superb half-centuries as they made India’s bowling attack look mediocre for once.

“We executed our plans well and the early wickets were very helpful”, Babar said acter the emphatic win. “The plan with Rizwan was to keep it simple. We tried to get deep in the crease and from about the eighth over, the dew came in and the ball came on nicely. This is just the start, we have [the] confidence to build on this win,” he said.
