Islamabad Science Festival 2021 sees strong participation from local schools

The event was attended by DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat among other dignitaries

Islamabad Second Science Festival took place at the Pakistan National Council of Arts on Saturday to give a platform to the students to display their ideas and love for science. The event was inaugurated by DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, who visited the stalls from about 80 schools from across Islamabad. Campaignistan partnered with the ICT administration to arrange the event themed ‘COVID-19’. The first such event took place in 2019 in Islamabad.

Rohan Khatwani from Thar also attempted to break the world record for fastest attempt to arrange the periodic table. The existing record is 2 min 42 seconds and Rohan finished the task in 1 min 58 seconds. The moment was witnessed by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat and President ECOSF Manzoor Soomro.

The event culminated with the closing ceremony and prize distribution with the honourable Chief Guests Shehram Khan Taraqai (Minister of Education, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) and Rana Waqas (Additional Deputy Commissioner General, ICT). The winners of the festival were awarded prizes and certificates were given to all the participants.

1st prize: IMCG F-10/2

Such events are the need of the day as we want to produce more scientists and researchers. At the same time, healthy activities like these will positively occupy the minds of the youngsters in times of coronavirus.
