Dr. Saira Siddique, the visionary founder and the first solo female founder of a Pakistani healthtech startup, announced the strategic expansion of MedIQ into the Saudi Arabian market.
This milestone comes after MedIQ raised an impressive $1.8 million in pre-seed funding for its health tech venture in April 2022, signifying Dr. Siddique’s leadership and the startup’s innovative approach.
The healthtech startup is now expanding its operation beyond Pakistan.
In a LinkedIn post, Dr. Saira Siddique shared the news of MedIQ’s foray into Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the company’s commitment to advancing healthcare technology and improving patient care. MedIQ has been a trailblazer in Pakistan for the past three years, digitizing the healthcare ecosystem and offering a range of services through its integrated platform.

The startup’s expansion into Saudi Arabia marks a promising chapter in the company’s journey toward redefining healthcare services.
“MedIQ Smart Healthcare set foot in Saudi Arabia in June of this year, after three successful years of digitizing the healthcare ecosystem in Pakistan. MedIQ Solutions is committed to playing its role in achieving Saudi Vision 2030,” she said.
Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 plan, aimed at modernizing and digitizing various sectors, including healthcare, aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Pakistan-based healthcare company. The Kingdom’s substantial allocation of SR180 billion ($50.3 billion) in the 2023 healthcare budget is directed toward digital health initiatives.
Dr. Saira Siddique highlighted key collaborations with major Saudi entities, including Almana Hospital, Elm (Saudi company pioneer in developing secure e-services and digital health government projects) and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, through joint ventures. These partnerships extend across mid-tier and top-tier hospital chains, as well as government hospitals, showcasing MedIQ’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions.
