PSL 2021 postponed after seven coronavirus cases were reported
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced to postpone the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for an indefinite period after several players tested COVID-19 positive.
The decision was made following a meeting with the team owners and considering that the health and wellbeing of all the participants.
The PCB said that the decision to postpone cricket matches was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which kicked off on February 20. Fourteen out of the scheduled 34 matches in the tournament have been completed.
The board’s immediate next step is to focus on the “safe and secure passage of all participants, and arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities to the six participating sides”.

The board management has been blamed for failing to ensure a secure environment and the tournament reported numerous violations of the bio-secure bubble.
