A number of celebrities took to social media to support women’s right and paid tribute to the women for their extraordinary efforts
International Women’s Day is being celebrated across the globe with the message of providing women with equal rights. The day is celebrated each year to create awareness of the need to provide women with their rights and stop the violence that is found against them in almost all societies across the globe.
It is not a new event and has been around for over a century. In 1911, International Women’s Day was celebrated for the first time on March 19 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Between 1913 and 1914, women in Russia observed their first Women’s Day on February 23. However, March 8th was later set as the single women’s day globally.
Celebrities express their support
A large number of Pakistani celebrities expressed their support for women and wished them all the best in their endeavors. They hoped that women can break the proverbial glass ceiling and achieve whatever they want to, in life.
