As many as 170 accomplished Pakistani students have been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship 2023 to study and conduct advanced research at leading U.S. universities.
Among these are 129 Master’s and 41 Ph.D. students and 7 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) fellows who will study at 81 U.S. universities in various disciplines, including engineering, energy management, and social sciences, according to the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) statement.
Pre-departure orientation for Pakistani students
The 2023 cohort gathered in Islamabad for a two-day pre-departure orientation to prepare for their educational journey and learn about the American culture, life on campus, and opportunities for exchange students in the United States.
Since 2005, 2,785 Pakistanis have received the Fulbright award to study, conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.
More than 9,621 Pakistanis and over 941 Americans have participated in USEFP-managed exchange programs since its inception in 1950.
