Army Chief witnesses Pakistan-Bahrain joint exercise, discuss defense partnership

COAS Gen Bajwa awarded the Bahrain Order (First Class)

Pakistan and Bahrain reaffirmed to strengthen ties especially in the defense and security domain during the two-day official visit (January 6-8) of Pakistan Army Chief, officials said.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, Salman bin Hamad bin lsa Al Khalifa, and discussed various aspects of bilateral ties, particularly military and defense cooperation.

During his visit, Gen Bajwa also lso witnessed the closing ceremony of Pakistan-Bahrain joint military exercise Al Badar-V at Sakhir Camp and said that “the exercise signifies the joint efforts of both nations against terrorism.”

On behalf of the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain‘s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa awarded Bahrain Order (First Class) to Pakistan’s army for contributions to defense cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Gen Bajwa also held meetings with Commander-In-Chief Bahrain Defence Forces (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and Commander Bahrain National Guard Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss the regional security situation and Pakistan-Bahrain defense partnership.
