The much-awaited ‘Captain Marvel’ finally released in Pakistan after almost a month
Fans are ecstatic as the much-awaited Captain Marvel has finally been released in Pakistan on April 5 after almost a month.
The movie was released in different cinemas all across the country including Islamabad’s Centaurus Cineplex, The Arena and Cinegold Plex in Bahria, Cinepax at Giga Mall as well as Cinepax at Jinnah Park in Rawalpindi.
Pakistani Marvel fans were disheartened and perplexed over the delay in the screening of Captain Marvel, which was originally supposed to release on March 8.
Many speculated that the delay was caused by Disney Studios India office after Pakistan banned the screening of Bollywood films in local cinemas in the wake of ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India. However, the real reason was an outstanding payment that was to be made to Disney’s partners in South Asia by Pakistani distributors.
The superhero film becomes the 7th Marvel movie to cross the $1 billion mark. “Captain Marvel” has earned $358 million in the United States and $645 million internationally. The film recently broke the record for being the highest grossing female-led movie ever.
Avengers Endgame opens in theaters on April 26 and fans are excited to see how the remaining heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will undo the damage caused by Thanos in the closing moments of Infinity War.
