The higher classes started earlier in September
Primary schools opened in Pakistan under strict SOPs to help avoid the spread of COVID-19. Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood visited a number of schools in the federal capital and reviewed the compliance of SOPs. The government is ensuring that the students maintain social distancing and wear masks during the classes. Earlier on in September, universities and senior classes in the schools and colleges were also opened.
The novel coronavirus has been mostly in control in Pakistan with average daily cases under 500 for the last few months. However, there have been occasions when the cases went closer to 1,000. The government is urging caution in wake of the possibility of a second wave of COVID-19.
