Engro Fertilizers launches UgAi — Pakistan’s first integrated Agri e-commerce platform

Engro Fertilizers has taken a pioneering step in Pakistan’s agricultural sector with the launch of UgAi, the country’s first integrated agri e-commerce platform.

The UgAi app, initially available to farmers in Sindh, allows for direct purchases of fertilizers at official prices while integrating advanced technologies like drones and satellite imagery to enhance crop monitoring.

With plans for a nationwide rollout soon, UgAi is designed to tackle several long-standing challenges in the farming community. Farmers will now be able to buy fertilizers directly from Engro Fertilizers, eliminating middlemen and ensuring consistent access to high-quality products.

UgAi App features

The app provides a seamless experience, delivering fertilizers from Engro’s warehouses directly to farmers based on their land’s size and needs. This ensures reliable availability, transparent pricing, and quality assurance, while also offering the convenience of home delivery.

UgAI will provide farmers with direct access to high-quality fertilizers, transparent pricing, and advanced satellite and drone technologies, helping to enhance yields and reduce costs.

One of the most innovative features of UgAi is its integration of satellite and drone technology. These tools enable precise crop monitoring, allowing farmers to make data-driven decisions to improve crop yield while reducing input costs. Through advanced imagery, UgAi helps detect crop health and soil conditions, giving farmers the insights they need for better productivity.

App launch event

The launch event, held in Sindh, was graced by Sardar Mohammad Bux Khan Mahar, Minister of Agriculture Department – Sindh, and attended by other government officials, including Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Secretary of the Sindh Agriculture Department. Leading voices from the farming community and senior officials from Engro Fertilizers were also present.

During the event, Sardar Mohammad Bux Khan Mahar praised Engro Fertilizers for setting a new benchmark in agricultural innovation. He expressed confidence that the UgAi app would help overcome the challenges of artificial shortages, price distortions, and counterfeit fertilizers, all of which have plagued Pakistan’s agricultural sector.

Rafique Ahmed Buriro also stressed the importance of digitizing Pakistan’s agriculture sector. He stated that the UgAi app would introduce modern, efficient practices, raising Pakistan’s agricultural output to global standards.

Speaking at the launch, Ali Rathore, CEO of Engro Fertilizers, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s food security and empowering farmers. “UgAi represents a key step towards modernizing agriculture in Pakistan by offering a comprehensive solution that improves crop management through the use of real-time data on crop health and soil conditions,” said Rathore.

As Engro Fertilizers rolls out this platform, UgAi aims to transform the farming landscape by offering farmers the tools and insights they need to maximize crop yields and reduce operational costs. By providing transparency and convenience through digital means, UgAi is set to make a lasting impact on Pakistan’s agriculture sector.
