Iranian First Lady Dr. Jamileh Alamolhoda embarked on a whirlwind diplomatic and cultural mission from April 22-24 during her visit to Pakistan, accompanying her husband, President Dr. Syed Ibrahim Raisi, on his official trip to the country.
Dr. Alamolhoda’s itinerary was packed with engagements aimed at bolstering ties between Iran and Pakistan through cultural exchange, educational collaboration, and diplomatic dialogue.
Islamabad itinerary
The day began with Dr. Alamolhoda’s participation in a ceremony held at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad, where she showcased her commitment to cultural diplomacy by celebrating the shared heritage of the two nations.
From there, Dr. Alamolhoda proceeded to the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Monday. During her visit, the Iranian First Lady engaged with students and teachers, receiving an honorary degree from NUML and unveiling the English version of her book titled ‘The Art of Feminine Living’, where she discussed the role of women in Islam.
At NUML University, where she inaugurated a vibrant spiring cultural fair, emphasizing the importance of educational partnerships in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
Displaying her compassionate side, Dr. Alamolhoda paid a visit to the Pakistan Sweet Home orphanage in Islamabad, where she interacted with children and expressed solidarity with vulnerable communities, underscoring the humanitarian dimension of her mission.
Dr Jamileh Alamolhoda was accompanied by MNA Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari, during the visit.
Lahore trip
In a nod to women’s empowerment, Dr. Alamolhoda will attend a conference at the University of Home Economics, highlighting the importance of education and gender equality in both nations.
On the diplomatic front, Dr. Alamolhoda is scheduled to meet with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Governor Punjab Baleegh ur Rehman at the Governor’s House, underscoring the significance of subnational engagement in strengthening bilateral relations.

Honoring the cultural legacy of Pakistan, Dr. Alamolhoda will visit the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, paying tribute to the revered poet and philosopher whose works continue to inspire generations in both Iran and Pakistan.
Karachi visit
As her eventful day draws to a close, Dr. Alamolhoda will depart for Karachi, symbolizing the continuation of her tireless efforts to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
Continuing her engagement with academia, Dr. Alamolhoda is set to launch her book at the University of Karachi, showcasing her intellectual prowess and furthering the exchange of ideas between Iranian and Pakistani scholars.
She will also attend a seminar on the “Role of Muslim Women in the Emerging Muslim Civilisation”.

As a professor of educational philosophy and head of the university’s science and technology research institute, she has balanced her academic career while raising two daughters with her husband, President Ebrahim Raisi, whom she married four decades ago.
