Hyperstar – a Dubai-based chain of hypermarkets – has started its operations at Islamabad’s World Trade Centre (WTC). The company kicked off its services after the store opening ceremony on 22 March.
With stores in Karachi and Lahore, Hyperstar market has build a reputation among Pakistanis because of competitive prices, quality and freshness of the products.
“The opening of our first Hypermarket in Islamabad marks a major milestone not just for Hyperstar, but for the local economy. Hyperstar World Trade Centre marks the beginning of a significant 6 billion PKR investment programme that will deliver 5 additional stores in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Gujranwala” said Gyu Taeg Kim, Country Manager Hyperstar Pakistan.
Hyperstar is already seeing the benefits of this investment through job creation and support for local producers. “At Hyperstar, we are committed to creating great moments for everyone, every day. Owned by Majid Al-Futtaim Group, Hyperstar is retail franchise of Carrefour, the world’s second-largest retailer after Walmart.
Islamabad’s has today announced the opening of its first Hyperstar hypermarket in Islamabad, Pakistan. The hypermarket, with a total sales area of 6,000 sqm, is opening in Islamabad’s World Trade Centre and will offer more than 25,000 products, including the widest choice of fresh produce and groceries, home appliances, sporting goods and leisure equipment, as well as textile products.
The hypermarket is already working with more than 500 suppliers from different regions of Pakistan, including 400 local manufacturers, producers, and farmers.
The new Hyperstar World Trade Centre store is expected to bring a range of economic benefits to Pakistan and has already provided employment to more than 800 people. It is expected to create an additional 200 direct and indirect jobs in Islamabad, including 50 local management positions.
