Islamabad’s first one-window executive passport office has been opened so you don’t have to wait for hours in the long queue to get your passport.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan inaugurated the new executive passport office to speed up services and facilitate people provided they are ready to pay that much extra for their ease.
The intent of new ‘executive’ passport office is to provide a quick line to the public without waiting for hours in queues. If someone wants to apply via ‘executive’ passport office, he would be charged a bit extra money. However, it’s not an urgent passport service.
“We had set a very ambitious target of setting up a passport office in every district of the country, and we are on course to achieve this target by the end of March this year,” He added during the inauguration.
“In 69 years since the country’s creation, 92 passport offices were established, but we have set up 74 new passport offices in the past year and a quarter,” Ch. Nisar said.
