Islamabad now has a ‘Smart City App’ to help you explore the city digitally

In its latest initiative to facilitate the citizens of the capital, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched Islamabad’s first city app.

Islamabad’s first ‘Smart City App’ aims to help residents and visitors explore the city digitally and learn all about the places of interest. It also inspires to encourage citizen as the smartphone application also allows citizens to register their complaints about multiple sectors of service delivery.

Capital Development Authority has launched the app to equip people with instant access to various government departments, utilities, law enforcement agencies and most critical emergency contact numbers based on user’s location.

Speaking at the launching ceremony State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said: “Such initiatives will lay down a foundation and a step towards establishing ‘Smart Cities’ for a digital Pakistan which is in line with MoIT’s vision.”

Anusha Rehman said in the spirit of democratic governance, revolutionary polices and visionary approach, the present government of Pakistan has prioritized the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector particularly e-Governance for good governance and better public service delivery to citizens of Pakistan.

The State Minister Anusha Rehman appreciated the efforts of Ministry of Information Technology, NITB technical team and CDA officials for taking such initiative to empower the citizens of Islamabad with a mobile application that not only can help them to explore city life but also equip each citizen with instant access to various public departments.

Anusha Rehman indicated that in last four years, significant improvements has been made in mobile broadband coverage in the country in all sectors.

“The categories of information in Islamabad City App include Metro Bus Stations, Emergency Numbers, complaint handling, crime reporting, hospitals, pharmacy, restaurants, fuel station information and much more,” according to a statement.
