Riots erupt in Kasur, people demand justice after a 7-year-old was raped and murdered

The horrific rape and murder of seven-year-old girl Zainab in district Kasur, Punjab has shocked the nation. She was raped and brutally murdered while her parents were in Makkah to perform Umrah.
Zainab’s body was discovered in a garbage pile on Tuesday, four days after she was kidnapped. The initial post-mortem report revealed that she had been raped multiple times and then killed.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, taking notice of the incident and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police, Punjab, within 24 hours.
Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa has also taken serious notice of the tragic incident and vowed immediate justice to the parents of the deceased girl.
COAS condemns cold blooded murder of innocent Zainab. Responding to appeal by the aggrieved parents to COAS, directs immediate all out support to civil administration to arrest the criminals and bringing them to exemplary justice.

Pakistanis demand justice for Zainab’s murder
People from all walk of life, including politicians, media persons and sports stars, have voiced their concern over the deteriorating norms and morality in Pakistani society. The celebrities and commoners of social media condemn the incident and demanded justice for Zainab’s family.

Images have also surfaced of what is alleged to be the culprit taking the child away, the frenzy has been created on mainstream and social media alike. This brutal treatment of a human life has shocked everyone beyond belief.

Before Zainab, 11 other minor girls including Eimaan Fatima, Fouzia, Noor Fatima, Sanna, Asma and Laiba were also kidnapped in Kasur last year and eventually met the same fate.
In protest, a complete shutter down strike is being observed in Kasur today against the alleged rape and murder of Zainab.
