Wrestling, karate, wushu, softball, badminton, hockey, taekwondo, boxing, judo, kungfu and table tennis games held at Islamabad Sports Festival

Athletes of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi had the fine opportunity to showcase their sports skills and talent at Islamabad Sports Festival.
The two-day sports festival was organized by Islamabad Sports Board at Liaquat Gymnasium Islamabad. The event included several sports including, wrestling, karate, wushu, softball, baseball, taekwondo, hockey, boxing, judo, badminton, kungfu and table tennis.
The Sports Festival was held on 10 – 11 April and was attended by a great number of sportsmen and women.
The chief guest for the concluding event was Mr. Zulfiqar Haider the chief commissioner of Islamabad. He congratulated the participants and stressed more events should be organized to promote sports among youth.
Director Sports Board Pakistan Muhammad Ali graced the inaugural and concluding ceremony as well.
Chief guests Muhammad Ali and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Mr. Zulfiqar Haider awarded the medals and certificates to the winning players.

In boxing contest, Faraz Ahmed, Khawar Khan, Farhad Khan, Jawad Khan, Haider Khan, Sikander Abbasi, Taimur Khan were awarded gold medals and certificates.
In karate contest, Hassan Ali, Sagheer Ahmed, Zohaib Riaz, Jaffar Tayyar, Abdul Wahab, Hur Ali clinched the first position in karate fights.
President of Boxing Association, Islamabad, Arshad Butt and President of Islamabad Kyokushin Karate Association Liaquat Ali congratulated the boxing team and Karate team of Islamabad over their performance as well as their coaches Abdul Jabbar, Abid Jani and Kazim Khan.
