New electric-only car charging station opens in Lahore
German multinational company Metro has installed the first-ever fast-charging station for Electric Vehicles (EV) in Lahore, Pakistan.
The leading chain of supermarkets became the first retail store to set up a fast-charging station for Evs in Pakistan.
The charging station was inaugurated by Marek Minkiewicz, managing director of Metro Pakistan and Ahmad Najeeb, chief executive officer of Albario Engineering Private Limited (AEPL) at Thokar Niaz Beg Metro store in Lahore.
The ABB Terra 54 station offers an opportunity for the people of Lahore and those visiting to charge their electric vehicles in a short period with a range of available charging ports to facilitate any type of EV vehicle.
The installation by Metro Pakistan is an effort to support the Clean and Green Pakistan initiative of Pakistan government.
Metro plans to open more EV charging stations in other cities of Pakistan.
