Pakistan Air Force chief assures PAF’s full support to Azerbaijan
Pakistan and Azerbaijan officials have agreed to bolster defense ties, particularly military exercises, training and cooperation between the two air forces, during meetings in the capital city of Baku.
Pakistan’s Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan discussed matters of mutual interests and bilateral defense cooperation in a meeting with Commander of Azerbaijan Air Force Lt Gen Ramiz Tahirov.
Air Chief led Pakistan delegation to Baku, Azerbaijan, with an aim to intensify military cooperation.
Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) praised the professionalism of Azerbaijan Air Force and “assured his counterpart of PAF’s full support; especially in the domain of training” an official PAF statement said.
Commander of Azerbaijan Air Force lauded the high standards of the PAF training system and acknowledged Pakistan’s support towards the training of Azeri Air Force personnel. Azerbaijan air force commander lauded the indigenization efforts by PAF, especially the JF-17 program.
Pakistan air chief also met the Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and agreed to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation, Azertag reported.
Lieutenant General Tahirov stressed that the development of cooperation, including relations in the military-educational and other fields between the air forces of the two countries to further strengthen the combat capability of the two militaries.
Azerbaijan’s official appreciated the current training capabilities at the Pakistan Air Force Academy. Meanwhile, the PAF chief expressed satisfaction with the training of PAF helicopter crews in the aviation training centers of Azerbaijan.
Both officials discussed the future partnership between the air forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan as well as the prospect of joint military exercises.
Earlier, the Pakistan air chief also visited the Martyrs’ Alley where he laid the floral wreath and prayed for the souls of all servicemen and civilians martyred during The Patriotic War (Nagorno-Karabakh war 2020).
