Pakistan has successfully administered 200 million Covid-19 vaccines so far, According to the latest data shared by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday.
With a total population of 220 million, Pakistan started its national vaccine campaign in February 2021, prioritizing the elderly people and health care workers in the country. It has since expanded its campaign to include teenagers as well in late 2021.
Latest Vaccination Statistics:
As per the recent data received from the country’s nerve center on the novel coronavirus;
- 2,006,247 doses were administered during the last 24 hours
- 119,150,808 people are partially vaccinated
- 92,565,125 are fully vaccinated
- 3,610,979 people were administered with booster shots
- Total number of doses of seven different vaccines given so far reached 200,887,927
Latest Corona Statistics:
According to the latest data received from NCOC;
- At least 29 people died of the novel disease during the last 24 hours
- The overall toll has now surged to 29,801
- The number of total infections now stands at 1,486,361.
The recent statistics from NCOC showed that Pakistan saw a major drop in COVID-19 daily death count. The lowest daily Covid-19 toll in a month was recorded after 2,662 fresh infections were reported in the last 24 hours.
Door-to-door vaccination campaign:
Earlier in February, the Pakistan government had announced the launch of a massive door-to-door vaccination campaign to administer over 35 million COVID-19 shots.
55,000 mobile teams will vaccinate people at their homes for the next two months in the first phase of the campaign, said the authorities.
The SAPM Dr. Faisal Sultan had said that the additional dose is being administered for free so people should benefit from it as much as possible.
He also requested the public not to turn away vaccination teams if they reach their doorstep.
