Pakistan sends relief assistance to earthquake-hit Afghanistan

Pakistan has dispatched relief goods for the earthquake-affected people of Afghanistan after a powerful quake killed more than 1000 people and injured nearly 1500.

The consignment arranged by the National Disaster Management Authority consisted of family tents, tarpaulins, blankets, and emergency medicines.

Pakistan has assured all possible support to alleviate the sufferings of the Afghan families affected by the 6.1 magnitude earthquake which hit parts of Afghanistan in the early hours of June 22.

KP province sends relief goods separately

Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province separately dispatched aid to help earthquake-affected families in Afghanistan.

As many as 5 trucks loaded with relief items including tents, kitchen sets, non-food items (NFis) and mattresses were sent on June 23 morning. The authorities said that more relief goods, medical teams, and medicines will be dispatched today.

The North Waziristan District (NWD) administration “is providing all-out support in easy passage of pedestrian movement, shifting of injured to DHQ Miranshah for which 06 Ambulances have been placed at zero point Ghulam Khan,” the official statement said.

Rescue 1122 earthquake victims relief activities Rescue 1122 has also deployed personnel on Pak-Afghan borders on the order of the KP government. Ambulances are also on stand by at the border areas in Torkham, Angoor Adda, and Ghulam Khan to provide basic life support and transport injured Afghan people to nearby hospitals, according to Dr. Khateer Ahmad, Director General at Rescue 1122.
