December 25th Dawned with a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals to pay tribute to the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the national flag would be hoisted at the principal government buildings across the country.
On this special day, Quran Khawani at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi, where a change of guard ceremony took place and Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul cadets mounted the ceremonial guard duty.
Commandant PMA Kakul Maj Gen Akhter Nawaz Satti, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inspected the parade. He also paid his respects at the mausoleum, where he laid a floral wreath and offered fateha.
On the occasion of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, President Mamnoon Hussain urged the nation to get united for the noble cause of national progress and prosperity.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his message said this day has a special significance for the whole nation because besides paying tributes to the great leader, it is a day to reiterate the resolve for reviving Quaid’s thoughts and move forward with his ideas.
He said on this day, the nation should retrospect how much we have succeeded in achieving the highest objectives set by our great Quaid for which the state of Pakistan was created.
The governor of Sindh Mr. Muhammad Zubair and Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Murad Ali Shah visited the Mazar-e-Quaid Karachi and laid floral wreaths and offered fateha. They were accompanied by representatives from all three Armed Forces of Pakistan and Deputy DG Rangers.
People from various walks of life would be visiting the mausoleum to pay tributes to the Founder of Pakistan on his birth anniversary.
