ISLAMABAD – Islamabad will soon become Pakistan’s top and world’s popular tourist destination as Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is set to launch new tourism initiatives in the country.

One of the main attraction is the introduction of mini air safari in Islamabad. PTDC has announced to develop a helipad on Rawal Lake View Point to offer stunning aerial view of the beautiful city of Islamabad.

Managing Director of PTDC Abdul Ghafoor Khan said that this initiative will attract more and more tourists in Pakistan because it owns one of the best places blessed with real natural beauty.

PTDC is going to participate in international tourism and travel exhibitions just to improve tourism in the country.  The tourism corporation will be conjoining with airlines, tour operators, hotels and provincial organizations during exhibitions. These exhibitions will create awareness about Pakistan.

“To increase the number of rooms in existing PTDC motels, we have contacted manufacturers of prefabricated structures and soon new rooms will be added to Naran, Ayubia, and other prominent motels,” MD added.

IT Department will develop an Online Reservation System for PTDC Motels where customers can make their reservation online.

Abdul Ghafoor said to improve the tourism industry, all relevant government and private organizations have to join hand for making this industry the major earner for Pakistan.

“We have launched many projects that include City Tour Bus Service, making of documentary films, up gradation of existing facilities as well as setting up new tourism projects in Islamabad and other parts of the country,” he expressed.

In 2016 – 2017 tourism business has been increased to 40%, and the flow of tourists has been increased during the current season. PTDC motels in northern areas and Murree are earning well because of the domestic tourism across the country.

Tourism has been on the decline in recent years in Pakistan due to terrorist threats and government unrest. But the recent Pakistan Super League Final held in Gaddafi stadium Lahore helped change that image and portrayed a positive image of Pakistan.
