Three COVID isolation centers for expats set up in Islamabad

Rapid testing will be carried out on arrivals from overseas and those testing positive will be isolated

Islamabad’s administration set up three centers to isolate expatriates coming to Pakistan if they test positive for Covid-19. These centers are set up based on the directives of the government as a part of international revised international air policy.

Rapid testing will be carried out for the passengers coming to Pakistan at the Islamabad International Airport. The covid positive passengers will be carried out for ten days. Another test will be carried out on the eighth day. Those testing negative will be allowed to leave for home.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (East) Babar Sahib Din, these quarantine facilities had been set up one each at OGDCL building, Marriott, and Redison hotels. There will be no charges for the isolation facility at OGDCL while Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 9,000 per day will be charged at the other facilities. Margalla Hotel and a guest house at F-7 will be used as backup facilities in case of need.
