Hisense, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics brands, has officially entered Pakistan through a partnership with Airlink Communication Limited in a move aligned with the government’s ‘Made in Pakistan’ initiative and broader ambitions to develop the country into a regional manufacturing and technology hub.
The partnership marks one of the most significant Chinese technology investments in Pakistan and will initially introduce a range of Hisense TVs and air conditioners to consumers across the country.
Hisense operates in more than 160 countries and generates annual revenues of approximately $30 billion. The company is globally recognized for its display technology and consumer electronics products.
Focus on local manufacturing
Airlink, one of Pakistan’s leading technology manufacturers and distributors, said the partnership is built around local production and technology transfer. The company operates a 1.4 million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Lahore’s Sundar Special Economic Zone, one of the largest technology manufacturing investments in the country.
Beyond manufacturing, Airlink provides nationwide distribution, retail and e-commerce operations, along with Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) financing solutions aimed at expanding access to consumer electronics.

Government sees boost for industrial growth
Addressing the launch event, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan said the arrival of Hisense reflected Pakistan’s transition from a consumer market into a manufacturing and technology center.
He said the partnership represented a model of industrial collaboration that combines global technological expertise with Pakistan’s expanding manufacturing capabilities.
According to him, the collaboration is expected to support technology transfer, skills development, employment generation and industrial growth, while strengthening Pakistan’s broader goal of becoming a competitive destination for innovation, production and export-oriented manufacturing.
Airlink eyes broader technology ecosystem
Speaking at the launch, Airlink Group CEO Muzaffar Piracha said: “The launch of Hisense in Pakistan represents another milestone in Airlink’s mission to make world-class technology accessible to every Pakistani household. Guided by the Government’s ‘Made in Pakistan’ vision, we continue to invest in local manufacturing, technology transfer and innovation. Our objective is not only to bring leading global brands to Pakistan but also to build a sustainable technology ecosystem that creates jobs, reduces the national import bill and contributes towards making Pakistan a global technology hub, while helping reduce the country’s trade deficit by expanding local value-added manufacturing and increasing exports of technology products from Pakistan.“
Hisense highlights Pakistan’s growth potential
Hisense Asia Pacific President Finn said Pakistan represented a key market for the company.
“Pakistan is a strategically important market with tremendous growth potential. Our partnership with Airlink combines Hisense’s global technology leadership with Airlink’s proven manufacturing capabilities, nationwide reach and deep understanding of consumer needs. We are confident that together we will deliver exceptional products and experiences while strengthening Pakistan-China economic cooperation, advancing technology transfer and contributing to the growth of bilateral trade and industrial development between our two countries,“ he said.
The two companies said local manufacturing would support the government’s “Made in Pakistan” initiative by reducing import dependence, accelerating technology transfer and creating skilled jobs.

Airlink currently employs more than 2,500 people, around 20% of whom are women. The company said it aims to eventually manufacture products for export markets to help generate foreign exchange earnings.
Through Airlink’s nationwide dealer network, flagship stores, digital sales platforms and BNPL financing services, Hisense products are expected to reach consumers across Pakistan, including underserved markets.
The launch ceremony was attended by government officials, business leaders, industry representatives, media personnel and channel partners.
The event also marked the unveiling of actor Hania Aamir as the official brand ambassador for Hisense Pakistan.
