Tazah, a B2B agriculture marketplace in Pakistan connecting farmers directly with retail fruit and vegetable sellers, raised $2 million in a pre-seed round led by Global Founders Capital.
The startup will use the funding to fix the broken and inefficient agri supply chain which increases prices of fruits and vegetables and leads to post-harvest wastage.
The pre-seed round was co-led by Zayn Capital. Other investors included Ratio Ventures, i2i Ventures, Globivest, Suya Ventures, +92 Ventures, Walled City Co, Afropreneur Syndicate, Musha Investments and Sunu Capital.
Local business groups, including Mezan Foods, also participated in the pre-seed round, which also witnessed participation from angles including senior executives in Careem and Swvl among others.
After commencing operations in Lahore just two months ago, Tazah says it is already serving 300 small and medium fruit and vegetable sellers operating truckloads daily.

Problems Tazah aims to solve
The B2B agriculture marketplace in Pakistan wants to achieve the following goals through the pre-seed funding:
- Transform the agriculture space in Pakistan
- Improve the lives of producers, consumers as well as the business
- Use tech-enabled operating system for advancements in field of agriculture
- Add financing solutions to benefit agriculture and food value chains.
“Tazah aims to be at the center of farmers’ and businesses’ lives where they perform most of their financial transactions on the Tazah platform. At scale, Tazah’s B2B marketplace will reduce food prices and wastage, improve access to fresh products for everyone and lead to the social uplift of farmers.” Said the firm.
The startup is looking forward to expanding further within other cities of Pakistan. This would improve its product portfolio along with providing ways to improve farmer’s access to the capital.
