Pakistan’s third privately-owned airline commences with Karachi-Islamabad flights
Air Sial, Pakistan’s third private airline has commenced its national operation with its Karachi-Islamabad flight.
The first flight of AirSial with 185 passengers on board departed from Jinnah International Airport on Friday morning and touched down the Islamabad International Airport at around 9:15am.
The airline management had set up its booking and facilitation office at Islamabad International Airport.
Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated AirSial on December 9 and hoped it would help improve the airline services in Pakistan.
The Sialkot-based airline is Rs3.5 billion project of the members of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry after the success of their earlier initiative, the Sialkot International Airport Ltd.
In the early phase, the airline will operate two flights between Karachi and Islamabad which the management said would be increased to three flights.
Initially, AirSial will be relying on three Airbus A320-200s, which have been leased from AerCap in Dublin.
