The Embassy of Sweden in Islamabad has announced the appointment of Alexandra Berg von Linde as the new Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, effective from August 15, 2024.
Ambassador Berg von Linde brings with her a wealth of experience from various diplomatic roles across Asia and Europe.
Prior to her appointment in Pakistan, Ambassador Berg von Linde served as the Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh from 2020 to 2024, where she was actively involved in promoting gender equality and development cooperation.
Her previous diplomatic experience includes key positions at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, where she served as Deputy Head of the Minister’s Office and Chief of Staff to the Minister of International Development Cooperation. In this role, she worked closely with the last two Swedish Ministers for International Development Cooperation, contributing to Sweden’s global efforts in development and humanitarian assistance.
Ambassador Berg von Linde’s career with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs began in 2006. Her extensive diplomatic experience also includes postings at the Swedish Embassies in Kabul, Afghanistan, and New Delhi, India, as well as a position at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in New York. Her expertise in international development and her commitment to fostering strong bilateral relations make her a significant addition to Sweden’s diplomatic mission in Pakistan.
As Ambassador to Pakistan, Berg von Linde is expected to further strengthen the relationship between Sweden and Pakistan, focusing on areas such as sustainable development, economic cooperation, and gender equality.
