Careem urges lawmakers to take note of deteriorating security situation in Islamabad
After last month’s shocking murder of Careem captain, another driver of the cab-hailing service has been killed in Islamabad.
A Careem driver, identified as 22-year-old Sajawal Ameer, was killed on Monday night while resisting a snatching incident.
Taking notice of the incident, Careem Pakistan has urged authorities to take strict notice of these incidents and enhance the safety of citizens.
“We urge lawmakers to take note of this deteriorating security situation in Islamabad and immediately take steps to improve the situation the company said on Twitter.

“While nothing can ever replace Captain Sajawal Ameer or take away the family’s sorrow, the whole Careem team stands with them in this very tough time. We will vehemently take this case up through legal channels,” the statement said.
Police officials said that the suspects tried to take away the car but the tracker installed in the vehicle shut down its engine, after which they abandoned the car nearby and escaped.
The car has been recovered and a case has been registered against unidentified persons. The culprits also reportedly took away cash and mobile phones from the driver.
This is the second incident of a Careem’s captain murder in recent weeks. On Feb 22, Junaid Mustafa, a 26-year-old Careem captain, was killed by the person who booked a ride for Sector G-13 of Islamabad. The police arrested the suspect.
Careem has announced a peaceful protest in remembrance of both deceased drivers, Sajawal Ameer and Junaid Mustafa, to raise voice against gruesome acts of violence.
