Expo 2020 Dubai: Pakistan Pavilion receives over 100,000 visitors

Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Expo-2020 themed as “The Hidden Treasure”, has received over 100k visitors since the start of the event on October 1st, 2021.

The organizers used the country’s official Twitter handle for the occasion, PakistanExpo2020, to share the latest stats.

The Pavilion was officially inaugurated by President Arif Alivi on 9th October when over 55,000 people had already visited the pavilion in only the first week of the event which made it one of the most visited sites of the Expo.

“Exceeded all of my expectations,” President Alvi remarked, lauding the huge number of visitors, during his speech.

Advisor to PM for commerce and investment, Abdul Razak Dawood, was also accompanying the President along with other state officials.

In an official statement, Mr. Dawood said, “The response we received was overwhelming and the number of visitors we had in the first week was beyond our expectations.”

Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum also visited the Pavilion earlier this week.

Dubai Expo-2020 is the first major event internationally to allow visitors since the covid pandemic and is serving the purpose of improving investment and marketing around the globe. It is also a great opportunity for Pakistan to connect with people from all over the world as 25 million visitors from around 200 countries are participating in the Expo.

Comments of the visitors:

The visitors enjoyed the bright front; vibrant Bazar, culture, history, Dhaba, and Billion Trees are the real crowd-puller. This part of Pakistan was not familiar to many visitors and they are excited about the authentic experience. Their comments are given below:

  • A Mexican visitor said, “I loved the experience. It felt very immersive. Rooted in history and culture, it exhibits everything that Pakistan has to offer in terms of tourism and industry. It was fascinating and made me want to visit Pakistan”.  
  • A visitor of the Pakistani Pavilion from Oman remarked, “Very nice pavilion. I have never visited Pakistan and, for the first time witnessing such great architecture and history. I never thought Pakistan had such an ancient civilization. I have never seen anything like this. I have already planned a trip to Pakistan.”
  • “This pavilion is amazing. You have such a deep culture, beautiful nature. I am astonished, I see here much more than I expected. You have a beautiful country. I cannot wait to visit”, said a Russian tourist.
