Salahuddin Ayyubi – the legendary Muslim warrior of Islam who freed Jerusalem
Pakistan and Turkey will jointly produce a TV series on the life of warrior Salahuddin Ayyubi, the legendary Muslim warrior.
“The series on the life of Salahuddin Ayubi will inform our youth aware about the history” of Muslim history and heroes, Prime Minister Imran Khan said while meeting filmmaker Shehzad Nawaz and Turkish producer Emre Konuk. Senator Faisal Javed, Syed Junaid Ali Shah and Dr Kashif also attended the meeting.
“It is high time to make dramas and films based on historical narrative rather than opting for routine topics,” he said.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on details of the joint project of the television series between Pakistan and Turkey. The planning of the series had been finalized, while shooting of the series will begin in April next year.
Pakistan’s Ansari & Shah Films and Turkish producer owner of Turkey’s Akli Film Emre Konuk signed the contract for co-production in August 2021. This will be first-ever joint production of Pakistan and Turkey.
Salahuddin al-Ayyubi, known in the West as Saladin, is a revered figure in Islam and hailed as the hero who recaptured Jerusalem from the Crusaders in 1187.
