ISLAMABAD: To pay tribute to the unsung heroes of war on terror and to promote the message of peace, a drama series “Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay,” has been jointly produced by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) and Communications Research Strategies (CRS). The second curtain raiser ceremony for the drama series, based on true stories of brave Pakistanis, was held here at a hotel in Islamabad on Monday.

ISLAMABAD: To pay tribute to the unsung heroes of war on terror and to promote the message of peace, a drama series “Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay,” has been jointly produced by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) and Communications Research Strategies (CRS). The second curtain raiser ceremony for the drama series, based on true stories of brave Pakistanis, was held here at a hotel in Islamabad on Monday.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira was the chief guest of the event. Qamar Zaman Kaira commended the effort of ISPR and CRS in portraying the actual situation of the affected areas and displaying the sacrifices of not only army personnel but their families as well through the drama series. “No war can be won unless the nation is standing side by side its army and government” he added.
Director General ISPR Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas, speaking on the occasion said that the 11 episodes focused on Swat and Malakand are “stories of unsung heroes” who conducted a prolonged operation to protect the innocent people who became victims of the terrorists. He said the series is an effort “to present the human face of the war to the people.” De-radicalization programs with the help of civil society and government is the need of time in order to stop the creeping ideology of extremist thoughts, said Abbas.
The drama series will be telecast by PTV Home every Friday at 7:40pm from Jan 14 and is based on 11 true stories of courageous Pakistanis who gave tough resistance to terrorists with their resilience and sacrifices during the operation against terrorists and militants in Mingora region.
Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay is an epic journey in the lives of common people, jawans and officers of Pakistan Army who, despite all odds, stood by their conviction and showed firm resolve to weed out terrorism and rendered invaluable sacrifices in the line of duty. The series will unveil the real face of terrorists and militants that have been exploiting the downtrodden in the name of religion.
Rich with emotions, actions, sacrifice and patriotism, the drama series contains certain scenes, which have never appeared on TV screen in Pakistan. Renowned playwrights like Zafar Meraj, Wasi Shah, Sajjad Saji and Aamir Raza have penned the 11 dramas while a list of their talented directors includes Kashif Nisar, Azeem Sajjad, Shakeel Adnan and Aamir Yousaf.
Video clips of the and theme song of the drama series were presented at the occasion which bears out the high quality of work put in to the drama series. “Mitti ka Qarz” is the story of DSP Javed Iqbal Shaheed’s personal and professional life while “Inkaar” is the true story of a bomber who changed his mind at the last moment and did not blew himself as the words of his mother’s echoed in his mind.
PTV Managing Director Shahid Nadeem said, “We are fighting a war of hearts and minds and the drama series “Faseel-i-jaan se aagey” will help in promoting the message of peace through media.”
The drama series aims to reinforce a true message of peace and forbearance. It also gives enough stimuli to pull people out of despondency and shows light on the other end of the tunnel and motivates them to stand by their security forces.
The theme song of the play “Imtihan Hai Imtihan” has been penned by young maestro Imran Raza and jointly sung by Rahat Fateh Ali and Shafqat Amant Ali Khan. It has been composed by Sahir Ali Bagga who is also performed on a special Dua sung by him at the end of the event.
The debut production of CRS Public Relations, “Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin” won two awards in “Best Drama” and “Best Writer’ categories at 9th Lux Style Awards held in Karachi. It also won the special PTV Award for best private drama serial with maximum viewership and revenue response during the year 2009.
