FJWU hosts seminar to promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship during Global Entrepreneurship Week
Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) in Rawalpindi hosted a dynamic seminar as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, bringing together key figures from academia and industry to discuss strategies for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
The seminar was opened by Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (TI), Vice Chancellor of FJWU, who emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between universities and the corporate sector. “Collaboration between academia and the corporate sector is essential for shaping future leaders and entrepreneurs,” she remarked, highlighting the critical role such alliances play in driving economic progress and innovation.
One of the key highlights of the seminar was the presence of Usman Shaukat, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). Shaukat shared his personal journey, offering valuable insights into the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship. His discussion on strategic planning and perseverance resonated deeply with the audience, especially students and startups, inspiring them to embrace resilience in their entrepreneurial ventures.
The event also saw participation from RCCI executive members, including Mr. Uzair Zahid Bakhtaweri of D. Watson Chemist and Mr. Ayad Afzal Sheikh of Joy Digital. They shared their expertise on industry practices and discussed potential opportunities for collaboration between businesses and universities to promote entrepreneurship.
The seminar attracted a diverse audience, including faculty members, FJWU entrepreneurship students, and startups incubated at FJWU’s Business Incubation Centre (BIC).
