Google for Startups Accelerator launched in Pakistan

Google is launching ‘Google for Startups Accelerator’ in Pakistan to promote a circular economy for startups and non-profit organizations in the country along with Asia-Pacific and North America, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

The program will select startups and NGOs in these regions using use modern technology in order to solve circularity challenges such as refill, reuse, recycling, safe and circular materials, food, fashion, composting, etc.

Asia-Pacific, being the most vulnerable region of the world to the effects of global climate change, is an ideal point to start the work on innovative circular economy solutions, according to the press release.

“Only 10 rivers contribute 90 percent of all river-borne plastic in the ocean, eight of which are in APAC. By 2040, Asia is expected to account for 40pc of global consumption,” said the statement.

Google, with its startup accelerator program, will not only help just Pakistan but the whole APAC region in creating a more sustainable economy. Here the word ‘sustainable’ in fact means an economy that’s more equitable and safer for each individual.

With all of APAC and mainly Pakistan suffering through hazardous climate change effects, it’s vital for people to get technologically updated and bring out great economic solutions. This is exactly what Google Startup will help boost.
