Every city of Pakistan has a unique touch and different characteristics and features that we attach to the cities. Residents of each city believe that their city is the best of all because of the special affection for their home-city.
Islamabad, the capital of our country, is unique and marvelous in many ways. It is a perfect representation of a capital city. However, two cities of Pakistan specifically are always in competition: Islamabad, the beautiful capital city and Karachi, one of the most vibrant cities of the country.
To carry on the debate about which city is better, let’s look at Islamabad through the eyes Karachiites and then an actual view of Islamabad.
Karachiites believe that Islamabad is a dull and lifeless city compared to the energetic, noisy Karachi. Islamabad surely has less population and comparatively a smaller city than Karachi it’s very boring to live in such city because they are used to seeing so many people around all the time.
The very fact that the people of Islamabad sleep as early as 9 or 10 pm is surprising for many Karachi is termed as a city that never sleeps. Karachiites are often in the habit of going for outing or shopping or dining after 9 or 10 pm. Islamabad is considered boring by many Karachi citizens and they think people of Islamabad have not much to do in the city which is the city dwellers sleep early probably, they argue.
Even the people of Islamabad are considered to be too classy and mummy-daddy-type as they call them. Islamabad citizens are often termed as the foreigners of Pakistan as they like to have discussions at coffee shops, wear western outfits, and go for hiking, biking to relax.
Islamabad, however, is a peaceful city, less crowded and less traffic as compared to Karachi.which makes it more peaceful. It has the a pleasant weather throughout the year and is full of greenery, probably the only city in Pakistan that is absolutely clean and green. The people are not lifeless, they have a separate time allocated for enjoyment. They’re not too good for others, their lifestyle is just pretty much sophisticated.
Islamabad, however, is a peaceful city, less crowded and less traffic as compared to Karachi. Islamabad, located at the foot of the Margalla Hills, is a modern capital alongside the ancient Rawalpindi city. Islamabad has a pleasant weather throughout the year with hot summers accompanied by a monsoon season followed by mild winters. The city is surrounded by magnificent Margalla Hills, is full of greenery and probably the only city in Pakistan that is absolutely clean and green.
The people of Islamabad are not boring. They are just well-organized, follow the schedule and give equal importance to work and enjoyment. Their lifestyle is just pretty much sophisticated and systematic.
No matter how much we try to justify the beauty and brilliance of each city of Pakistan, we have a special feeling and love for our hometown, but we proudly appreciate each and every part of our country.
