Taking a significant move towards women’s empowerment in Pakistan, Mobilink Bank, the country’s leading digital microfinance institution, has announced a partnership with CARE Pakistan to launch the Strive Women program.
This initiative aims to support 50,000 women over the next three years by providing them with essential financial resources, skills development, and mentorship opportunities to help them establish and expand their businesses.
The partnership is designed to address the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Pakistan, a country where women’s participation in the workforce remains limited. Through this collaboration, Mobilink Bank and CARE Pakistan will offer affordable loans and comprehensive financial literacy training to 30,000 women, to significantly increase their economic participation and foster a more inclusive economy.
Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Interim CEO of Mobilink Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and women’s empowerment.
“Our Women Inspirational Network (WIN) program has been instrumental in equipping 15,000 women with the knowledge and skills necessary to build and expand their businesses effectively. Our partnership with CARE Pakistan is a strategic alliance that combines our expertise in microfinance with their commitment to women’s empowerment. Together, we are amplifying our impact and are dedicated to reaching even more marginalized women, helping them to thrive financially and become catalysts for change in their communities,” he stated.
Adil Sheraz, Country Director of CARE Pakistan, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the crucial role of women entrepreneurs in driving economic growth.
“The Strive Women program exemplifies our dedication to fostering a robust support system for women-led businesses. Recognizing women entrepreneurs’ pivotal role in driving economic growth, we are committed to addressing their unique challenges to unlock their full potential and enhance our economy. By joining forces with Mobilink Bank and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, we reaffirm our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for women to succeed in business. Together with our partners, we aim to create an environment where women entrepreneurs can thrive, innovate, and contribute significantly to society,” Sheraz remarked.
This collaboration between Mobilink Bank and CARE Pakistan is poised to make a substantial impact on the economic landscape of the country, empowering women to overcome barriers and achieve financial independence. As the program unfolds, it is expected to not only uplift individual women but also contribute to broader societal change, fostering a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
