Pakistan and Azerbaijan agree to boost economic and security ties during FM Bayramov’s visit
Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to build “a stronger economic relationship” and boost cooperation in the political, security, trade, energy, connectivity areas, during the two-day visit (January 13-14) of Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Azerbaijan’s foreign minister invited Pakistani companies to participate in the reconstruction of the newly liberated land from the Armenian occupation. “We were proud to have your support when these land were occupied, we will be glad to have your cooperation to bring these lands back to life” he stated.
Congratulated on Azerbaijan’s Victory
During the meeting with FM Bayramov, Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi congratulated Azerbaijan on the liberation of its territories and on the Victory. The foreign minister conveyed the sincere greetings of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and expressed his gratitude to the brotherly country of Pakistan for its unequivocal support, especially during the 44-day Patriotic War. The President of Pakistan stressed the importance of further expansion of cooperation in economic, trade and other fields.
PM Imran Khan assures support for Karabakh reconstruction
Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his meeting with the Azerbaijan foreign minister, assured of all possible assistance from Pakistan for reconstruction and development of newly liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
PM Imran Khan expressed satisfaction at the excellent quality of bilateral political relations and stressed to enhance bilateral trade and energy cooperation. FM Bayramov affirmed Azerbaijan’s desire to upgrade bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Extended sincere felicitations to the leadership and people of Azerbaijan over the recent victory, PM Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan celebrated this glorious event together with Azerbaijan.
The foreign minister also briefed the Pakistani premier on the demining, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in the newly liberated territories of Azerbaijan from Armenian aggression.
Military cooperation
During his official visit to Pakistan, FM Bayramov also held a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The sides discussed collaboration in the field of military-technical and military education areas.
Congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the victory in the Patriotic War, Gen Bajwa stated that Pakistan has always stood by Azerbaijan, supported its just position and expressed its moral support and solidarity with Azerbaijan. FM Bayramov expressed deep gratitude to the Pakistan side for its unequivocal support.
Meeting with FM Qureshi
During the meeting of Foreign Minister Qureshi and Foreign Minister Bayramov, the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan relationship and also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Foreign Minister Qureshi congratulated his counterpart on Azerbaijan’s historic victory in the recent victory and declared support for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in the newly liberated territories. FM Qureshi expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support to the just and legitimate cause of the Kashmiri people.
The two ministers discussed many aspects of bilateral relations, including expanding cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy and transport, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
