Around 200 electric bikes will be available on campus for the students and teachers
EzBike launched its service at Quaid-i-Azam University to provide affordable, convenient, and environment-friendly transportation on the campus. The service was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali. Other well-known members of academia were also present on the occasion.
EzBike is the country’s first electric bike-sharing service currently available in Islamabad. It can be easily used with the help of an app and has the most reasonable cost along with being environmentally friendly. About 200 bikes are expected to be available on campus, parked in prominent areas such as cafes, hostels, and academic departments. Students on campus will undertake the customer services and operational roles for the electric bikes service.
University pleased with the green transport
The University’s Vice-Chancellor said that the service will add ease of transport within the campus while improving the air quality. “The introduction of ezBike is another example of our commitment at QAU to providing students, staff, and visitors with a safe and convenient environment by employing the latest technology. Not only will ezBike reduce on-campus transportation costs but it will contribute to improving our air quality,” Ali said.
First campus to introduce ezBikes
Mohammad Hadi, the CEO of ezBike, was pleased that Quaid-e-Azam University is an early adapter of the low cost and environmental friendly service. He said that the electric bikes will lower both the trvel cost and the carbon footprint.
Hadi congratulated Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and his staff for “making Quaid-i-Azam University the first higher education institution in Pakistan to host an electric bike-sharing service on its campus.”
EzBike is launching a mobility revolution in Pakistan which after a successful launch in Islamabad city has extended services to the QAU community. “The average ezBike ride on campus will cost 50% less than currently available transportation services, and each of our electric bikes will save 1 ton of carbon emissions annually,” Hadi added.
