Pakistan celebrates Eid Milad un Nabi with religious fervor

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan share messages with nation on occassion of Eid Miladun Nabi.

People across Pakistan are celebrating Eid Miladun Nabi, a day of spiritual significance in Islam with, traditional zeal and fervor today.

Eid Mildun Nabi, celebrated on 12th Rabiul Awal every year, commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Muslims across the globe celebrate the occasion with religious vehemence to honor Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The celebrations today began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in all the provincial capitals of the country, following a night of Mehfil-e-Naat, conferences, and fireworks. Special prayers will be offered in mosques across the country to advocate Islam and religious teachings, unity, progress, and the welfare of the Muslim community.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and other government and opposition leaders shared messages with the nation on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi.

‘Prophet (PBUH) revolutionized society’

Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his message on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi congratulated “all humans of the world,” particularly the Muslims around the globe.

The premier said that the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the world revolutionized every aspect of human society, adding that the Prophet (PBUH) challenged the system of oppression in the world and opened doors of welfare for humanity.

‘Following in Prophet’s steps is the key to success’

President Dr Arif Alvi has congratulated the entire nation on the auspicious occasion and urged to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). In his message, President Alvi said that following Prophet Muhammad’s example was the key to success in both the world and the hereafter.

“The only solution to the problems being faced by the Muslim ummah, including chaos, oppression and injustice is following the seerat,” said President Alvi. “We need to gain knowledge of seerat in order to understand the true concept of Islam,” he added.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid extended his congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion and said he was “proud” to be a follower of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Opposition leader in the Parliament and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said proof of “true love” for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was in proper obedience to him.

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life was a role model for Muslims of the world, and urged Muslims to let go of all conflicts and become a united ummah.

“We will have to prove to the world through our deeds and actions that we are true ummatis of Prophet Muhammad,” he added.

Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong also congratulated Pakistanis on Eid Miladun Nabi, wishing them harmony, prosperity, peace and good health.

Activities planned for the day

State and religious organizations, Milad committees, and individuals have planned a number of activities, including processions, seminars, conferences, and discussion programs to mark the annual event. Local Milad committees have chalked out a comprehensive plan to take out processions across the country.

Distribution of sweets and food has also been planned in markets, schools, colleges, orphanages, and among disabled and handicapped persons.

Federal and provincial governments have prepared contingency security plans with coordination of other law enforcement agencies to guard the processions and other events to be held on the day.
