Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai World Trade Center. The pavilion showcases 40 prominent Pakistani companies under the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), underscoring the significance of boosting Pakistan’s exports across various sectors to drive long-term economic growth.
“Arab Health has served as an important platform for the health care industry over the past 50 years for collaboration, innovation, and shaping the future of health care,” Ambassador Tirmizi said as he inaugurated the pavilion.
“Our mission is committed to doubling the number of Pakistani exhibitors at next year’s exhibition.”
The Arab Health exhibition also features scientific conferences that provide insights into the latest health care trends, advancements in digital health and AI, as well as strategic investment opportunities in the sector.
Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized the importance of utilizing platforms like Arab Health to promote business-to-business connections, encourage innovation in research and development, and strengthen collaboration in digital health care services, as per the Pakistani embassy.
Pakistani exhibitors said they were satisfied by the arrangements and reiterated the role of Arab Health in unlocking Pakistan’s export potential within the UAE and across the broader Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
The UAE is Pakistan’s third-largest trading partner, following China and the United States, and is a significant source of foreign investment, exceeding $10 billion over the past two decades, according to the UAE foreign ministry. Pakistani policymakers view the UAE as an ideal export market due to its proximity, which reduces transportation and freight costs, while streamlining commercial transactions.
Pakistan, home to the world’s fifth-largest medical manufacturing hub in Sialkot, and exports over 80% of its domestic production. Its low production costs and access to inexpensive medical raw materials and primary products further enhance its appeal.
Earlier in January, Pakistan signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately $250 million with China at the China-Pakistan business-to-business matchmaking conference, focused on the medical equipment and surgical instruments sector.
