Pakistan made a strong impression at GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology and startup exhibition, which kicked off on October 14 in Dubai.
The startups and innovations highlighted the South Asian country’s rapidly growing information and communication technology (ICT) sector and a dynamic startup ecosystem.
The participating Pakistani startups, sponsored by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunications through the Ignite program, represent a diverse array of sectors including healthcare, aerospace, energy, gaming, travel technology, and smart cities, offering state-of-the-art solutions to attract global investors and partners.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE inaugurates Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX Global
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai World Trade Centre. During the ceremony, Ambassador Tirmizi expressed pride in GITEX Global’s recognition of Pakistan as the “Tech Destination of the Year 2024,” acknowledging the country’s significant advancements in IT products and services.
Ambassador Tirmizi also noted Pakistan’s growing IT exports, which have increased by 34% to the UAE, reaching $265 million. Globally, the country’s IT exports have surpassed $3.2 billion, with expectations for further growth.
He credited the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of IT, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), stating, “Their joint efforts have made it possible for Pakistan to present its full spectrum of capabilities at GITEX Global, the world’s largest IT exhibition.”

Ignite, Pakistan’s national technology fund and a public sector company with the Ministry of IT & Telecom, has sent 10 sponsored startups to the Expand North Star GITEX 2024 in Dubai. These startups span various sectors, showcasing innovative solutions to global investors:
