The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has formally handed over the newly constructed Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Museum to Radio Pakistan’s administration.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, with TİKA country coordinator Dursun Ali Yasacan and TİKA’s Islamabad Coordinator, Muhsin Balcı transferring control of the museum to Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, Director General of Radio Pakistan.
Funded by TIKA, a subsidiary organization of the Turkish Ministry of Culture, the museum aims to celebrate the longstanding cultural and historical ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
The museum is designed with elements inspired by Turkey’s Seljuk architecture, blending modern design with traditional cultural influences.
The museum is set to open to the public after its formal inauguration by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar.
Following the handover, a selection committee of experts will finalize the list of artifacts to be displayed in the museum, with the task expected to be completed within ten days.
Once open, the Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Museum will offer visitors an immersive experience of the deep-rooted cultural bond between the two nations, with exhibits that reflect not only radio history but also the rich shared heritage of Pakistan and Turkey.
