The vibrant colors, diverse landscapes, and cultural treasures of Pakistan took center stage at the New York Travel and Adventure Show 2024 held from January 27-28.
The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), in collaboration with Provincial tourism departments, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York, and private sector companies, orchestrated a captivating display of the nation’s tourism potential.
A 60-member delegation, including representatives from PTDC, TDAP, and 24 private sector companies, represented Pakistan at the prestigious Travel and Adventure Show in New York.
Pakistani Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Masood Khan led the inauguration of the Pakistan Pavilion at the ‘Travel & Adventure Show New York’.
At the inauguration ceremony of “Pakistan Pavilion”, Ambassador Masood Khan highlighted the huge potential for tourism in Pakistan.
“Pakistan is home to ancient and modern civilizations and has the most beautiful tourist sites including picturesque snow-capped peaks, untouched coastal areas, vast deserts, and a rich cultural heritage — all making the country one of the top travel destinations in the world,” he said.
Emphasizing the enormous tourism potential in Pakistan, he encouraged members of the Pakistani community to play a vital role in boosting tourism by investing in this promising sector.
Joining him at the inauguration ceremony were the Tourism Minister of Gilgit Baltistan, Ghulam Muhammad, former Minister for Tourism Gilgit Baltistan, Raja Nasir Ali Khan, and Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai.
Building on the success of the previous year, the Pakistan Pavilion earned the coveted “Best In-Show – International Tourism Development” award, a testament to the compelling presentation and enthusiasm of the Pakistani delegation.
Wasi Shah, State Minister for Tourism and Chairman of PTDC, congratulated the team and all stakeholders for their efforts in setting up the award-winning Pakistan Pavilion. Expressing optimism, he stated that these endeavors would significantly contribute to attracting more foreign visitors to Pakistan.
Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmed Atozai, welcomed the visiting delegates and congratulated them on the success of the award-winning Pakistan Pavilion at the two-day “Travel & Adventure Show 2024,” where countries from around the world participated.
Aftab Rana, Managing Director at PTDC, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “The event will provide an opportunity to showcase the great potential of Pakistan’s tourism industry and create linkages with the leading international players of the tourism industry, which will greatly help attract more tourists.”
The annual Travel & Adventure Show in New York serves as an ideal platform for interaction with visitors to top international and domestic travel destinations, tour operators, cruise lines, and travel providers. The presence of Pakistan on this global stage marks a significant step towards positioning the country as a must-visit destination for travelers worldwide.
