PM Imran announces stipend for disabled, prosthetic limbs delivered to people in Dera Bugti

The measurements of the one hundred recipients were taken by a team before the limbs were delivered  

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that two million families in Pakistan with some kind of disability will benefit from the Ehsaas Kafaalat program at the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. A monthly stipend of 2,000 rupees will be given to such families.

“This is a step toward a disability-inclusive and sustainable post COVID-19 world,” Khan said. According to WHO, about 15% of the world’s population, which amounts to over one billion people across the globe, have some kind of disability. About 80% of people with special needs are in the developing countries according to the world body. It is important that they are facilitated in every possible way to make their lives better.

Prosthetic limbs distribution in Dera Bugti

Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal distributed prosthetic limbs to 100 people with disabilities. These people were affected in different accidents as well as landmines. Measurements were taken two months earlier and now the limbs have been delivered. People expressed their delight at the occasion as many will be able to lead better lives with the help of these prosthetic limbs.
