Porsche AG, a luxury sports car manufacturer, on Thursday announced that its supervisory board has decided to hire Sajid Khan, a Karachi-born Pakistani who has formerly worked as chief technology officer at rival Mercedes-Benz, as the firm’s executive board member, with a focus on Car-IT
According to the foreign media reports, the development comes as the Volkswagen-owned Porsche gets for a marketing list.
However, it has not yet been decided exactly when the supervisory board will sign off on Khan’s hiring or his starting date, Porsche said in a statement.
Who is Sajid Khan?
Sajid Khan, 48, was born in Pakistan and holds German nationality. He has also worked for Mercedes-Benz in the past for about six years, up to August 2021. He was chief technology officer at BMW and also a member of its divisional board.
Further, he worked as Vice President of Digital Vehicle and Mobility for DaimlerChrysler AG and also as BMW’s Executive Vice President.
He would now become the eighth member of the executive board of Porsche AG.
Khan is said to be an internationally recognized expert in the development of intelligent software in vehicles.

Our focus now is on implementation, which we want to continue to drive forward together with Sajjad Khan.”
