Talha Anjum is now officially ‘Mr Most Streamed’. Pakistan’s rapper Talha Anjum has dethroned Atif Aslam as Pakistan’s most-streamed local artist on Spotify.
As 2024 draws to a close, Spotify Pakistan’s highly anticipated Wrapped data has arrived, offering music lovers across Pakistan and beyond a comprehensive look at the songs, artists, and trends that defined the year. This year’s release highlights the exceptional rise of local talent, as well as global hits that have captivated the nation, underscoring a pivotal year in the evolution of Pakistan’s music industry.
Talha Anjum reigns as Pakistan’s Most-Streamed Artist of 2024
In a major shift at the top of the charts, rapper Talha Anjum has been crowned Pakistan’s most-streamed local artist of 2024, dethroning Atif Aslam, who had held the position for three consecutive years. Anjum’s dominance in the streaming world is a testament to the growing influence of hip-hop in Pakistan’s music scene, as the artist’s prolific releases and self-proclaimed title of ‘Mr. Most Streamed’ are now backed by data to match.
Rising star Umair claims second place on the list, while Atif Aslam, a perennial favourite, rounds out the top three. Also making their mark among the top five are the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and dynamic artist Talhah Yunus, continuing to showcase the diversity and depth of local talent.
In addition to Anjum, Umair, and Aslam, other artists like Abdul Hannan, AUR, Hasan Raheem, and Maanu have earned spots among the most-streamed local artists, reflecting the vibrant and ever-expanding landscape of Pakistani music.

While local artists have made a major impact, international musicians also continued to dominate the Pakistani charts. Indian playback singer Arijit Singh maintained his position at the top, with Pritam, Karan Aujla, Shubh, and Sidhu Moose Wala rounding out the top five. Anjum, Umair, and Aslam also made their presence felt on the global list, securing spots at number six, nine, and ten, respectively.
One notable highlight from this year’s Wrapped is the rise of Annural Khalid, who has been named Pakistan’s top female artist for 2024. Having made waves as the first woman artist to be featured on Spotify’s RADAR earlier in the year, Khalid’s trailblazing presence in the industry has earned her recognition on the global stage.
Top Tracks and Albums of the Year
Among the most-streamed tracks by Pakistani artists, “Jhol” by Maanu and Annural Khalid emerged as the clear favourite, capturing listeners’ hearts with its melodic charm. The track was followed closely by “Wishes” by Hasan Raheem, Umair, and Talwiinder, as well as AUR’s “Tu Hai Kahan”. These songs reflect the growing appeal of younger artists, with their diverse and emotionally resonant narratives striking a chord with audiences across the nation.
The year also saw the rise of emerging talents like Aashir Wajahat, NAYEL, and Nehaal Naseem, whose collaboration on “Sadqay” made a significant impact. Alongside them, Abdul Hannan and Rovalio’s tracks, “Bikhra” and “Iraaday”, continued to maintain their popularity, marking a significant shift towards fresh, modern sounds in the local music scene.
Internationally, Anuv Jain’s “Husn” topped the charts in Pakistan, followed by “Jhol” and his own track “Jo Tum Mere Ho”, further cementing the appeal of global indie music within the local context.
In terms of albums, Umair’s ROCKSTAR WITHOUT A GUITAR led the pack, followed closely by Talha Anjum’s Open Letter and Imran Khan’s Unforgettable. These albums join timeless classics such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Reformed and Asim Azhar’s BEMATLAB, further solidifying the eclectic mix of genres that are shaping Pakistan’s musical identity.
