Pakistani youth rush to get vaccinated privately

Russian Vaccine Sputnik V being privately administered at various hospitals

Pakistan’s government has offered free of charge coronavirus vaccine administrations to people over 50 years of age. However, there were no options available for people under 50. Keeping this in view, the government allowed private import of the vaccine.

Currently, Sputnik’s COVID-19 vaccine is being administered at many private hospitals in Pakistan. Some have even run out of vaccines within a day or so of receiving them due to the high demand.

Long queues were observed at private hospitals that offered walk-in vaccine administration. Even though the $10 vaccine is being administered for almost $80, people are still looking forward to getting vaccinated as Pakistan faces a third wave of coronavirus.

Corporate world gets vaccinated

Another reason for the vaccines is so high in demand is that various companies as well as banks are getting their staff vaccinated. With vaccine imported in limited numbers, importers are able to sell them on their preferred price. The trend may continue for several months to come.

Satisfied with vaccination

The general feedback about the vaccination is positive and people who received the jab privately did not report any side effects. There weren’t any real concerns about the price either. As the confidence grows, more and more people are expected to opt for private vaccines.
