For the first time in the country’s history, the Pakistan Army has promoted two officers belonging to the Hindu community in Sindh to the rank of lieutenant colonel on February 25.
Both the officers belong to the Army Medical Corps. Kailash Kumar and Dr Anil Kumar became the first Hindu majors in the Pakistan Army in 2019.
Born in 1981, Major Dr Kelash Kumar hails from the Tharparkar district in Sindh. He got commission in the army in 2008.
Major Dr Aneel Kumar, born in 1982, hails from Badin district in Sindh. He got commission in the army in 2007.
The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) welcomed the promotion of officers to the rank of lieutenant colonel. PHC patron-in-chief MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani congratulated the two officers.
