COMSTECH and Pakistan’s University of Lahore launch fellowship program for Bangladeshi students

In a major step toward enhancing academic collaboration, the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the University of Lahore (UOL) have announced a new fellowship program aimed at Bangladeshi scholars and students.

The program, designed to foster innovation and strengthen educational ties within the OIC member states, offers an exceptional opportunity for Bangladeshi nationals to further their education and contribute to cutting-edge research.

The fellowship program will cover various academic disciplines, including allied health sciences, engineering, pharmacy, management sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Additionally, the initiative will also focus on training technical personnel working in science, technology, and engineering labs, expanding opportunities across several fields.

COMSTECH Coordinator General, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stressing the importance of bridging educational gaps across the Muslim world. “By investing in Bangladeshi scholars and students, we aim to cultivate a generation of innovators and leaders who will address the challenges of our time.”

This initiative also underscores the University of Lahore’s growing global presence, having recently been ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide in the QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2025. Known for its market-driven curriculum and commitment to high-quality research and education, UOL is a key partner in this endeavor.

This fellowship program stands as a testament to the leadership of COMSTECH and the University of Lahore, particularly Chairman of the Board of Governors, Awais Raoof, who has been instrumental in fostering educational and professional growth within the OIC member states.

Who can apply COMSTECH-University of Lahore?

  • The COMSTECH-University of Lahore fellowship program is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45 who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and a commitment to contributing to their communities.
  • Applicants will benefit from tuition fee waivers, round-trip airfare, an honorarium, and free accommodation.
